Friends of SMD from the UK have alerted us to a potential scam concerning a warning bouncing around social media that gangs of dog-nappers are searching neighbourhoods and placing coloured markers on houses that have dogs in the yard to come back and steal your beloved pooch for dog fights or some such similar.

Although we cannot say outright that is rubbish (but oh we want to!), Hoax-Slayer has reported the same warning but located in Perth, Western Australia.

Hoax-Slayer have confirmed that the Perth incident is a hoax so we reckon that the UK version is equally bogus.
